West Indies head coach Darren Sammy set social media abuzz on Thursday after posting a cryptic message on X (formerly Twitter) following two high-scoring cricket matches played on the same day. His post, which quickly went viral among Indian fans, sparked a wave of memes over two letters he added at the end of his message.

Sammy wrote, “Wow... no score is safe. I know the feeling.” He then added two English letters after the word “feeling”, triggering reactions from Indian cricket fans who interpreted them as an abusive expression.

The post came after two remarkable run chases on Thursday, October 22. In one match, Sri Lanka chased down a massive target of 430 runs against England in an ODI at Rawalpindi, completing the chase with just one ball remaining and creating history.

In the other match, New Zealand, also known as the Black Caps, scored 225 runs in a T20 match in Christchurch. India successfully chased down the target, winning by four wickets with two balls remaining.

Following these matches, Sammy shared his reaction on X, highlighting how even massive totals no longer appear safe in modern cricket. The post crossed millions of views within just a few hours.

Cricket fans agreed with the sentiment behind Sammy’s message, pointing to the two extraordinary run chases as examples of how high-scoring matches can still produce unexpected results. However, the two letters he added after the word “feeling” became the main talking point among Indian users, who interpreted them as a swear word. Memes flooded the replies to his post.

Several users joked that Sammy had learned Hindi during his India tour, adding another layer of humour to the viral discussion.

The Christchurch T20 match saw New Zealand post 225 runs before India chased down the target with four wickets in hand and two balls to spare. The result added to the day's discussion about the challenges of defending big totals.

Meanwhile, in the ongoing tri-series at Rawalpindi, England posted 429/4, powered by a spectacular century from Harry Brook. Sri Lanka responded with an impressive chase, reaching the target with two wickets remaining and one ball to spare.

Pavan Rathnayake scored 130 runs for Sri Lanka, while Dasun Shanaka and Avishka Fernando contributed 97 runs each. Sri Lanka’s successful pursuit also marked the team’s highest-ever run chase.

Sammy, a two-time T20 World Cup-winning captain, drew widespread attention with his brief post, which connected two extraordinary matches through a single observation: even the biggest totals can be chased down.
